On 17 December 2018, Kishorechandra Wangkhem, a journalist who was detained under the National Security Act last month,has been sentenced to one year in jail under the law.
On 3 October 2018, Mr. Seelan Palay, a human rights activist and artist who has criticized Singapore’s human rights record on many occasions, was charged for “staging an unlawful performance without a permit” under Section 7 of the 2009 Public Order Act and sentenced to pay a S$2,5000 fine (around 1,570 Euros). Following Mr. Seelan Palay’s refusal to pay the fine, he was ordered to serve a two-week prison term.
Nepal: Free Madhes activist dies in police custody

On 1 September 2018, Ram Manohar Yadav, a Free Madhes activist arrested in Gulariya, Bardiya 12 days ago for showing black flags to Deputy Prime Minister and Health Minister Upendra Yadav, died in police custody.
On 22 May 2018, Tashi Wangchuk, shopkeeper and language activist was sentenced to five years in prison for “separatism,” prompting an outcry from governments and rights organizations who said the sentence highlights Beijing’s disregard for its own laws protecting ethnic autonomy.
On 6 February 2018, Hoàng ??c Bình, environmental rights defender, was convicted on by the People’s Court of Din Chu, to serve the largest term in prison.
China: Missing Tibetan Protester Found Jailed in Sog County

On 6 Feburary 2018, a Tibetan man who vanished last month after staging a solitary protest in Tibet’s capital Lhasa has been found jailed in a county in eastern Tibet.
On 7 Febuary 2018, Tep Vanny, land rights activist, attended an appeal hearing at The Supreme Court in Cambodia, where her 30-month sentence on charges relating to the 2013 protest outside Prime Minister Hun Sen’s house, was upheld.
