India (Bengaluru): Woman human rights activist assaulted with rod by three men

A woman was severely assaulted by three persons with rods here on Friday, October 20. The assaulted woman is identified as T Mahalaxmi. The incident has happened at Choloorupalya. Mahalaxmi is the Karnataka southern zone president of an international human rights organization. Three men named Naveen, Rohith and an unknown person entered her office all of a sudden when she was in the office and assaulted her with rod on her head, back and hand. Political grudge is suspected to be the cause of assault. The supporters of former corporator Ravindra are believed to be behind the assault as the woman was identified with Congress. Mahalaxmi has been admitted and being treated in K C General Hospital. A police case is registered in K P Agrahara police station.
