The social media of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Islamic Student Movement (PB PMII) officially informed that the WhatsApp number of the General Chairperson of PB PMII Muhammad Abdullah Syukri was hacked by an irresponsible party.
"Informing that the WhatsApp number of the General Chairperson of PB PMII, friend Muhammad Abdullah Syukri, has been hacked by irresponsible persons," reads information uploaded by PMII's official social media @pmiiofficial quoted Tuesday (23/8).
In the description of the uploaded photo, this hack occurred after PB PMII stated that it rejected the discourse of increasing subsidized fuel prices by the government.
"Be careful if someone calls on behalf of the General Chairperson of PB PMII," wrote the statement on the PB PMII upload.
PB PMII had issued a statement rejecting the plan to increase subsidized fuel. Abdullah Syukri believes that the increase in fuel prices will further exacerbate poverty in Indonesia.
In fact, he warned that he would mobilize cadres throughout Indonesia if the price of subsidized fuel was raised.
"We are all PMII cadres throughout Indonesia, always ready to move to guard the interests of the people and firmly reject the plan to increase subsidized fuel prices," Abdullah said in his statement.
Previously, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Panjaitan said President Jokowi is likely to announce an increase in the price of subsidized fuel for the type of pertalite and diesel this week. This is because the fuel subsidy, which reached Rp502 trillion, has burdened the state budget.
