A number of students who took part in the demonstration to increase fuel prices admitted that they were mistreated by the police after a riot broke out at the Hulondalo Indah (HI) roundabout.

Right in front of the Jalan Nani Wartabone gas station, students began to scatter, due to the police chase.

According to TribunGorontalo.com monitoring, the mass of action joined in the Red and White Alliance was involved in a physical fight with the police.

The peak of chaos began to occur at around 17.00 WITA.

The demonstration became increasingly heated, when several protesters, including the driver of a commando car, began to be kidnapped by members of the police one by one, including the moderator of the action, Zakaria.

Zakaria admitted that he did not remember exactly how many police officers paraded him.

As he recalled, several police officers pinned his neck at the time of the incident. As a result, his eyes and neck hurt.

"Not only my neck hurts, especially when I drink water and spit on the asphalt red liquid comes out of my mouth," he admitted.

Zakaria was caught on camera moaning in pain near the fence while holding his chest.

He felt tightness in his chest, so several students around him took the initiative to take Zakaria to Multazam Hospital.

Fadel Imauan Hamzah Alim, a member of LMID, shared the same experience.

He was paraded by two people wearing plain clothes to a local shop.

The two men then beat him to a distance of 300 meters from the circle of mass action.

"When they brought me I was hit in the back, chest and it was difficult to breathe because they buttoned my neck."

"We were not taken to the police station, not far from the mass action circle, and that's where we gathered 10 people and were beaten by them."

For this incident, Gorontalo City Police Chief, AKBP Ardi Rahananto asked for data on students who were rushed to the hospital.

"I am the police chief responsible. Later in the data, where the wound was and what hospital he was rushed to," said Ardi, when he met the mass of action.

He also regretted the actions of the students. According to him, students must demonstrate according to the rules.

"If the rule is at 18.00 Wita, then the action can be continued tomorrow," said the Police Chief.
