On 20 April 2023, a number of Ede ethnic minority citizens were beaten and arrested by the police, resulting in at least 7 injured including a pregnant woman and 12 arrest for protesting against the water releasing system that allegedly contaminated the natural water sources in Cư Kuin District, Dak Lak Province, Viet Nam.
