UP member Abdur Rashid has been accused of misappropriating TCB products in Jeevannagar, Chuadanga. Three local journalists were attacked while collecting news in this incident. The incident took place at Manoharpur Union of the upazila around 6 pm on Thursday. The journalists who were attacked are Mithun Mahmud (31), representative of MyTV and local daily Samakar, representative of Daily Khola Kagaz Md. Azizur Rahman W. (35) and representative of the village paper. Tuhinuzzaman Tuhin (28). In this incident, Mithun Mahmud filed a written complaint at Jibannagar police station at 9:00 PM on that day, naming 4 people and accusing 4-5 unknown people. It is known that journalists Mithun, Dabul and Tuhin went to gather news on Thursday afternoon. At that time, two sacks of TCB rice and several bottles of oil were found in the kitchen of the member's house. When UP member Abdur Rashid asked about this incident, he abused them and attacked them. Later under his leadership brother Tariqul Islam Tari, Amir Hamza drawing, Md. Hasibur Rahman Sumon along with 4-5 unidentified people attacked. At that time, they vandalized cameras, microphone booms and mobile phones. Locals said that UP member Abdur Rashid has various misdemeanor records. In the name of providing pregnancy allowance cards, the victim traded the cards for money from many women. When I went to him for civil services, he demanded money. Mithun Mahmud said, we went to verify the truth of the information. At one stage of the interrogation, the wife of member Abdur Rashid said that her husband took the TCB products and kept them in the kitchen. We went to the kitchen and found two sacks of TCB rice and several bottles of oil. Upon sensing our presence, UP member Abdur Rashid got angry and started abusing. At one stage, 7-8 people under his leadership attacked us and vandalized cameras, booms, microphones and mobiles used for news gathering.
Denying the issue, UP member Abdur Rashid said that many people took oil and pulses from TCB dealers but did not take rice. I bought two sacks of rice from there to give to the poor people of the area. UP Chairman Sohrab Hossain said, he has not heard about the incident yet. He avoided the matter as he was enquiring. Jibannagar police station OCSM Javeed Hasan said, 'We have received a written complaint regarding the attack on journalists. I will investigate. A case will be recorded if it is worth taking. Upazila Nirbahi Officer Hasina Mumtaz said, I came to know about this through you. I am looking into this. We will investigate and take action against the culprits.

On 28 March 2024, three local journalists, namely Mithun Mahmud, Md. Azizur Rahman W., and Tuhinuzzaman Tuhin, were assaulted by a group of men led by Abdur Rashid in Chuadanga, Bangladesh for reporting on Rashid's embezzlement of TCB (Trading Corporation of Bangladesh) products.
