The leaders and activists of Jubo League tried to prevent the human chain of journalists in Gangachra of Rangpur. The local Jubo League leaders and activists tried to stop the human chain at Gangachara Bazar zero point of the upazila in protest against the assault on the journalist. Later the human chain was completed under police guard. Journalists Abdul Bari Dulal, Babul Mia, Nirmal Roy, Abdur Rahim Payal and others spoke in a human chain under the chairmanship of Gangachra Press Club President Abdul Majeed. The human chain demanded the arrest of UP Chairman Liaquat Ali and exemplary punishment. It is known that journalist Wasimul Bari Siam was assaulted by the people of Upazila No. 6 Gaujhanta Union Chairman Liaquat Ali while reporting on the embezzlement of government allocated money for the mosque in Rangpur's Gangachra and gathering news about irregularities in the distribution of TCB products among the beneficiaries. At that time, his mobile phone was broken and the microphone was taken away and he was detained for an hour.
