But they were stopped by interceptors from Henan shortly after they arrived. They weren’t being allowed into the city. The authority then took Jiang Tianyong’s sister and father back home in their own car, driving through the night. They arrived in Luoshan in Xinyang city, Henan at around 6.00 a.m. the next morning. They have been taken to the Nangan police station for interrogation. They haven’t yet been released

He is under criminal detention on suspicion of “picking quarrels and stirring up trouble,” “libel,” and “incitement to subvert state power.”

    On 21 November 2016, Chen Shenqun died in police custody: officially she died in a road accident in the northeastern Chinese province of Liaoning while she was escorted home by police, after being detained while petitioning in Beijing and held at the Majialou detention center on the outskirts of the Chinese capital. Her family has raised suspicions she was murdered.
