On 3 and 19 July 2017, a man had attached an article quoting her stand on the LGBT community, but which the WHRD claimed had misquoted her. Following the post, she received the responses on the website were calls to behead, rape and splash acid on her face.
On 22 July 2017, a local activist, Uk Mao, received a threatening phone call saying “You will be beheaded soon.” after he tipped authorities off to an alleged land grab.
