On 13 May 2019, Prof. Haragopal, N. Venugopal Rao, Prof. Katyayini Vidmahe and otherteachers in Hyderabad, Telangana, academics and HRDs, had their meeting interrupted by police. Some of the academics and teachers were also arbitrarily detained during the police visit.
On 9 April 2019, Wei Zhili, labour activist, was reportedly watched and closely surveilled as he met his wife who visited him in the detention centre where he is being held. This harassment has been on-going.
On 22 April 2019, Bai Xiurong and Altanbagan, ethnic mongolian herders who are group chat moderators on the social media platform WeChat were detained after they took part in demonstrations in support of herding communities
On 2 April 2019, the family of local prisoner of conscience Huynh Truong Ca was questioned about humanitarian supports it has been receiving.
